I'm a practicing entrepreneur who has successfully bankrupted two (or three, depending how you count) companies and is working on the next. I've been doing this for about 7 years now and, like you, I'm still trying to figure it out. I went through YC in 07, have raised a couple rounds of funding, and have built some non-tech products like a card game and a warehouse. I love the very early stage -- how you get from an idea to a company that is tiny but kind of works. Apart from my tech projects, I live in Barcelona and help European accelerators & unis design better startup education programs. As a techie, the biggest thing I've learned is how to talk to customers and learn what they want when everyone is lying to you. I wrote a book about it. You should read it, because it's short and full of jokes.
